The Court of Justice of the European Union has dismissed a legal challenge from Poland aimed at pausing the provisional execution of the trade pact between the EU and the Mercosur nations. Warsaw had sought an injunction against the agreement, asserting that its application would lead to significant negative consequences for the agricultural sector, consumer interests, and environmental standards within Europe. However, the Luxembourg-based court determined that the Polish authorities did not provide adequate evidence to substantiate the claim that such serious damage would occur. This ruling allows the interim trade deal with the South American bloc to proceed while the court continues its broader review of the case. The decision marks a setback for Poland's efforts to block the controversial economic partnership.
