Stanley Praimnath and Brian Clark remain among the very few people who managed to survive after being trapped above the impact zones during the September 11 terrorist attacks. The two men, who were complete strangers at the time, encountered each other amidst the chaos on the 81st floor of the South Tower. Their harrowing experience involved descending 1,620 stairs to reach safety while the building burned around them. Decades later, Praimnath continues to reflect on the intensity of that day, noting that the memory remains as sharp and painful as ever. Their survival stands as a rare exception to the tragedy that claimed nearly 3,000 lives in New York City and Washington DC in 2001.
