During a two-day summit in Brussels, European Union heads of state engaged in rigorous debates regarding migration, climate regulations, and financial support for Ukraine. Despite the urgency of these topics, the council concluded without finalizing any significant agreements. Political tensions and upcoming national elections in countries like Spain and France contributed to a lack of consensus. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the meeting to advocate for sustained financial assistance, warning that insufficient support could trigger a massive migration wave of millions of Ukrainians. Although the Ukrainian leader received verbal support, concrete commitments regarding the requested 155 billion euro funding for the coming year remained elusive. Consequently, the council opted to defer major policy resolutions to future sessions, leaving critical budgetary and strategic questions unresolved for the time being.
