Tom Ryan, the director-general of the Gaelic Athletic Association, has stated that the organization is currently unprepared to meet the established schedule for integration. This assessment follows the recent resignation of Dr. Mary McAleese, who previously served as the chairperson for the Gaelic Games Integration Steering Group. In response to this development, the Minister for Sport is scheduled to hold discussions regarding the future of the integration process. The departure of the former President of Ireland from her leadership role has prompted a re-evaluation of the timeline and the overall readiness of the GAA to proceed with the planned merger initiatives.
