The Ukrainian publishing industry, which experienced significant growth following the 2022 invasion, currently faces severe risks due to persistent Russian military attacks. Kharkiv and Kyiv remain the primary hubs for the nation's printing sector. In August, a major incident occurred at the headquarters of the publisher Ranok in Kharkiv, a facility spanning 10,000 square metres. Viktor Kruglov, the company's co-founder, was present with senior staff members to coordinate the distribution of over 600,000 new school textbooks ahead of the academic year. The facility, which previously operated as a bread factory, serves as a critical node for educational materials. The ongoing conflict now jeopardizes these logistical operations and the physical infrastructure essential for producing and storing literature across the country.
