Azerbaijan has pledged 1 billion manat, approximately 540 million euros, for climate-resilient irrigation projects between 2026 and 2030. Agriculture Minister Majnun Mammadov announced that this investment accounts for nearly 40% of the national agricultural budget dedicated to climate adaptation. To combat water scarcity and soil degradation, the government has also introduced an AI-driven scoring system for farmers, created with the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation. This platform provides advance subsidies to smallholders based on their use of sustainable farming techniques and crop profitability. Furthermore, international experts and officials discussed the potential for green hydrogen in domestic industry and highlighted ongoing regional cooperation regarding renewable energy infrastructure, such as the Black Sea subsea cable project. These initiatives reflect a broader effort to maintain momentum in climate action following the country's previous hosting of COP events.
