President Trump has officially signed new legislation designed to restrict the financial resources supporting Russia's ongoing military operations in Ukraine. While the measure aims to curtail Russian income, it encountered significant resistance from Democratic legislators. These lawmakers argued that the sanctions did not go far enough in their scope. Furthermore, they expressed concern regarding specific clauses within the bill that grant the President the authority to unilaterally implement tariffs on countries that maintain substantial energy trade relationships with Moscow. Despite these objections from the opposition, the legislative package has now been signed into law.
