A candidate representing Poland's far-right Confederation party has been disqualified from the upcoming mayoral election in Kraków. Bartosz Bocheńczak's bid was invalidated after electoral officials determined that over 2,000 signatures gathered from local residents to support his candidacy were not legitimate. Sławomir Mentzen, a key figure within the Confederation, publicly described the situation as both an "embarrassment" and a "catastrophe." Following this revelation, Mentzen removed Bocheńczak from his leadership role within the party's local Kraków structures and initiated an internal investigation to understand the circumstances that led to this significant procedural error.
