Ammi Burke is currently appealing a Workplace Relations Commission ruling that rejected her claim of unfair dismissal from the law firm Arthur Cox. During the Labour Court proceedings, legal representatives for the firm argued that Burke’s employment was terminated due to a breakdown in professional trust and her condescending attitude toward colleagues. The firm’s counsel described her as rigid regarding working hours and noted a pattern of poor interpersonal judgment. While Burke maintains she had an unblemished record and was dismissed without warning or disciplinary process, the firm contends that her behavior and subsequent public protests by her family have permanently damaged their relationship. Arthur Cox strongly opposes her request for reinstatement, citing years of aggressive litigation and reputational harm. Burke, who received a significant ex-gratia payment upon her departure, continues to seek a return to her former position.
