A Polish national has received a five-and-a-half-year prison sentence for his involvement in espionage activities on behalf of the Russian intelligence services. The Lublin court of appeal issued this final ruling on Thursday, extending a previous sentence by two years. The individual was found guilty of conducting surveillance at the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport. These actions were reportedly linked to a broader Russian scheme aimed at orchestrating an assassination attempt against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during his transit through Poland. The judicial decision is now considered binding, concluding the legal proceedings against the defendant.
