Grzegorz Braun, a prominent figure in Poland's far-right political scene, has released footage showing him using a hammer to strike a memorial site. The monument commemorates members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), a group active during the Second World War. While the UPA fought against Soviet forces, they are also historically linked to the mass killing of Polish citizens. Braun stated that the structure should be dismantled, claiming it honors Nazism and dishonors the victims of historical atrocities. This act of vandalism follows previous damage inflicted on the same site by unidentified individuals. The incident occurs during a period of strained diplomatic relations between Poland and Ukraine regarding the interpretation of their shared wartime history.
