On Wednesday, Türkiye condemned the drone attack by the Houthi movement aimed at the holy city of Mecca. The Turkish Foreign Ministry reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and security, expressing solidarity following the incident. Türkiye emphasized that such assaults jeopardize regional stability and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities. The statement was issued amid escalating tensions between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-aligned Houthis, with Riyadh issuing emergency alerts for Mecca and surrounding areas due to recent missile and drone threats. The incident follows claims by the Saudi-led coalition of intercepting a Houthi drone targeting Mecca, which the Houthis contested.
